Puppy – This class is for puppies three months to no more than 20 weeks old on the first night of class. Puppies learn how to meet and interact with other puppies and people. They also learn a few simple commands and fun tricks. This is a four week class.
Prerequisite: Puppy’s age must fall within class description.
Advanced Puppy/AKC S.T.A.R. - This class is designed for puppies five months to one year of age. In this class puppies learn basic obedience skills, such as sit, down, and come, attention work as well as basic manners and play on agility equipment to build confidence. This class also includes all of the AKC STAR (Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility) puppy exercises. The AKC Star Puppy Certification is a good stepping stone for handlers interested in earning the Canine Good Citizen title. It also provides a good foundation for those interested in training their puppy to be a therapy dog. The club provides an opportunity for all handlers and their puppies to take the Star Puppy test at the end of the class. This is a six week class. You must be present for every class to be eligible to take the S.T.A.R. Puppy Test.
Super Puppy- Fun class that will review basic obedience skills and work on skills for puppy to be a happy well adjusted member of home and society. Some things we may cover: “Go to mat / place”, “kennel”, crate games, recall games, distractions, attention, manners around dogs and humans, tricks, agility games and more. Prerequisite: Pups from four months to one year. Should have had introduction to basic skills (sit, down, come when called, walk on loose lead, etc) . Reactive and aggressive puppies are not appropriate for this class.
